    I thought as much -- but it still puzzles me how it can be built by SuSE but
    not be me -- unless it's built on a sparc32 processor, right? :-)

    This would be a bug for the PostgreSQL group to handle, then -- configure
    shouldn't try a 64 bit compilation even if Ultrsparc. I'll pass that along
    to the PostgreSQL group.
