There's considerable work going into the 2.4.x kernels for
Sparc over on the Aurora mailing list. A bunch of people
are putting together a Sparc distribution of RedHat 7.2,
including several RedHat engineers. Earlier this week
there were several postings about a reasonably complete
kernel, so it may be worth perusing the mailing list
archive at:
From what I understand, the only noticable deficiency
was the CS4231 support, and a fix looks like it's in
hand for that.
