Hello all,
I've just loaded a sparc 2 with a bare minimum install of SuSE 7.3 and
installed gcc and make and patch to facilitate the compiling of the
kernel. I used CVS to get the latest source from vger.samba.org and
compiled the kernel, compiled the modules, installed the modules,
installed the kernel and the System.map. I then rebooted, and this is
what I get:
Uncompressing image...
bootmem_init: Scan sp_banks,
init_bootmem(spfn[220],bpfn[220],mlpfn[4000])
free_bootmem: base[0] size [fef000]
free_bootmem: base[1000000] size[2fc4000]
free_bootmem: base[3fcb000] size[35000]
reserve_bootmem: base[0] size[220000]
reserve_bootmem: base[220000] size[800]
Booting Linux...
mem_init: Calling free_all_bootmem().
and then it just sits there. What can I do to get a working 2.4.x kernel
on this sparc 2?
Ed
