Sorry but imho this is NOT a Sparc 2-only (sun4m/sun4c) Problem.
My SS10MP (2x RT626, 128MB Ram, cg6, no extras) have the same
Situation with SuSE 2.4.14 and 2.4.17 downloaded from cvs like Ed's Sparc 2.
As you can see in my bootlog, accessing the Disks crashed my
First-time-installed 2.2.20 and more Bugs/Trouble seen on 2.4.17
I need a 32Bit-2.4.x-Kernel with smp and i'm not able to compile
a stable Kernel other than SuSE's 2.2.20
This may be a configuration Problem or as T.Kukuk says -
a hardware Bug on my Box. (See Thread "A _wonderfull_ Distribution. Thanx
SUSE!")
May be - or maybe not.
But without a precompiled Kernel i can't test this. Solaris 8 works on my
Box.
