I have done a bit more testing, with some interesting results..
Sometimes ping works fine and reports the correct ping times, other times it
breaks, I have tried to narrow down the fault with little success, stopping
and starting the network and route processes doesn't seem to affect the
condition.
The only issues I may have is with the local DNS, this a MS NT DNS, which
takes a while to get the internet address resolved, taking the local DNS out
of resolve.conf make the ping of a domain name resolve much better.
Does anybody know of issues with MS DNS and Linux systems? (I know the MS
DNS is a little on the non standard side).
I am using a 100 MB Full Duplex link to an Extreme Summit 48. Anthony is
your system similarly configured???
