    i don't know about any "official" limitations but i have succesfully used 18Gb
    SCSI Harddisks in SS 2 and SS Voyager. Both are older models
    as yours. So there yould be no problem.
    But the old openprom versions cannot boot partionions beyond the 1GB border! So
    you habe to put your boot partition at the beginning of the disk.
