    These will work. As Thorsten pointed out Yast is smart enough to warn you
    about the boot partition being past 1 GB.

    Heat used to be an issue. With modern drives it is not an issue any longer.
    Older drives, 1, 2 and some 4 GB got very hot.

    All modern LVD drives will either automagically revert to SE or can be
    forced to
    SE mode via jumper. HVD drives are a rarity in SCA format. They do however
    exist.

    This is correct. Don not mix HVD with LVD or SE. However as stated above,
    most LVD drives will do the right thing when put with SE.
