If you have installed over serial console and look at /etc/rc.config,
you would see that SERIAL_CONSOLE is set.
If you don't install over serial console, you have set it yourself
later. If you have a SPARC this does not mean that you are using a
serial console (other like s390, where you only have a serial console).

If this crashes the box the kernel bug needs to be fixed, see it as
good test to find such bugs and fix them ;-)
