I finally got around to trying to upgrade my SparcClassic from 7.1 to 7.3
over the weekend, and since I'm writing this, you can guess things didn't
go well. I tried to upgrade it several times and everytime it died in the
middle somewhere. The only package I remember it complaining about was
'eject', and then aborting. In addition to this problem, the machine now
no longer boots into the old version. I'm using an NFS install from an
intel PC running Mandrake. Everything seems to be fine on the PC side, I
just don't know how to figure out what went wrong. It says to check a log
file, but I can't do that, the machine won't boot. (I also can't switch
terminals, I'm doing the install using a serial terminal, no
monitor/keyboard)
Any ideas/suggestions/comments/help? Thanks!
