    AFAIK it should boot. I installed 7.3 on a SS5, i had some partitioning
    problems, but now everything is fine.

    i think KDE and GNOME will run... but it will probably be very slow. I
    would rather use a more lightweight window-manager like windowmaker or
    blackbox.

    so the first step is to try to install SuSE on it, and if you encounter
    problems, you can post again a message with the specific problem.
