    Yes, I already "downgraded" my display to 256 colours. When I start wfcmgr
    on
    a 16bit display, there's only the stderr message saying "Illegal
    instruction"without any windows shown.

    The display's res is 1280x1024 but I don't think it matters, at least the
    java client runs without problems with that resolution.
