    Hi John,

so far, there's no answer to this question.

Up until now, fact is, that the SSA runs perfectly with 2.2.20
    kernel on a Sun4d architecture (i.e. SS1000).

Lou Piccicano and I did some testing on either SS10/20 (Sun4m) and
the Ultra 1 but didn't succeed.

In the source for fc4.c and/or soc is mentioned that this code was
tested with the SS1000 and the Ultra 1 (?). So my personal hope was
to get rid of my SS1000 and put the SSA on an Ultra box (and I did
spent a lot of money and time on this issue).

But if you get the same error than we did month ago, I am afraid,
it doesn't work with the Ultra 1 :-((.

We tried to contact the programmer of the fc4 / soc code but didn't
    get any feedback at all.

Sorry to tell you this, but this is the status of this issue as far
    as I know.

    Matthias
