I also had a customer whom was experiencing a similar problem.
His resolution was to take the Sun out of service, and replace it with a
PC which was running Linux.
This was quite sad, as I feel the Sun was the superior box to
have. We had to reboot the machine on a constant basis, and it became so
much of a hassle they replaced it.
For some reason no one at SuSE has or is looking into the
problem. There just seem to be more and more people that are noticing
it.

I have a similar problen on a Ultra1 , the ethernet card freezes after
some
time or when you transfer a big file, and also requires a reboot. I have
tried unloading the module and loading again, but the interface keeps
frozen.
Suse 7.3 works great in this machine(video, sound , all autoconfigured
without problems ), but is unusable due to this problem.
