    Hi Lou and all other,

    No I don't get a silo prompt.
My SS5 boots and shows me an 'OK' prompt. (Openboot?? or something else in
    the boot prom)
Then i type in 'boot disk' nothing happens and the system is waiting for
'Arp packages' or something like that.
I can boot the cdrom via 'boot cdrom'.
I think me problem is 2-fold i did not configure Silo or the boot prom. I
tried to configure silo and cheched the option add linux entry to boot prom
etc. Tried writing info in MBR and on boot partion boot don't work.

    Anybody an idea?
    Thanks again,
    Bob

Did you try simply boot disk -or- boot disk0

You should have made a silo entry as you installed SuSE, but you can tweak
    that later...

Are you getting to the 'SILO:' prompt?? If so, this puts you at the /boot
directory; you can even type the name of your linux image to boot for the
    time being.
