Actually, I think I may have figured out what went wrong. Apparently the
kernel installed on Sparc32's by default may not have had CodePage support
turned on/enabled. I haven't been able to verify this completely yet, but
I strongly suspect this is the problem. It worked when I accidentally
compiled/installed/booted the 2.4 series kernel, and it had the codepage
support turned on. I haven't had an opportunity to try it again with the
2.2 series kernel as I'm trying to resolve my dhcp issue first. (Making
headway on that and hope to have it figured out by the end of the weekend
or early next week) (Not to mention the 3 HOUR kernel compiles are killer!)
On the log front, I know about the log file, it was empty, so was of no
help.
