Hi all,
just want to add MY 2 (EUR-)cents :
I run SuSE (x86) on several systems. I also bought some of the
releases.
Also, I run SuSE 7.3 on an AXi (64-Bit UltraSPARC) and this system
is to become my LINUX-Server (whereas most of my other systems will
be X-Terminals - also set up with SuSE).
Then, I have a couple of SPARC (32-Bit) systems, mostly SuperSPARC
processors (SS10/20, S1000E) which I'd like to see running SuSE.
Since the SSA (SUN Storage Array) is running on my S1000E with SuSE
7.3, this machine will be the central data server in the near
future. Also it will be a kind of boot server for most of the other
systems.
What I want to say is, that it would hurt to see SuSE for 32-Bit
SPARC going dead.
I am using SuSE since 6.4 (x86) for some years now. For the SPARC I
first decided do go with RedHat (I bought this version) since they
were about the only company to deliver it at that time.
Now, having SuSE on most of my systems, I'd like to have ALL the
same OS running since it is much easier to control that stuff.
SuSE guys, you did a GREAT job when offering the SPARC distibution.
I really hope, that you will continue this work and also support
the 32-Bit architecture. On the other side, I will support SuSE and
buy the new software. If not available for SPARC, I'll buy it for
x86.
As I said : just my two cents ........
