Matthias:
My compile of kernel 2.4.17-SMP - unpatched - worked great! No compile
errors. Fibre support is built as modules.
Compiled vmlinux is 2,431,781 bytes.
Its gzip compressed (vmlinuz) size is 956,262 bytes.
SILO loads AOK, and booting process starts to point of mounting temporary
partitions, but thenŠ
It freezes at the point of 'Freeing up kernel memory 136k'
So now I try a compile without the initial RAMdisk support (I think!). The
adventure continues!
(Have you guys who've compiled v2.4.17 used any patches? If so, can you
tell me which ones and if they're from kernel.org?)
