    So long as they are SPARC binaries, I don't think there's a compatibility
    issue with Sparc64 machines running binaries compiled for Sparc32 (otherwise
    there would be two of every RPM on the distribution disks, one for Sparc32
    and one for Sparc64).

    Now I must state the obvious, just in case, don't be offended: You cannot
    under any circumstances run any Linux binaries that are for an intel (x86)
    or other architecture. If it doesn't say SPARC, it doesn't run on your
    machine.

    Aside from that, much of the stuff on the Sparc 7.3 distro must be compiled
    for Sparc32 (the Kernel has separate versions) because all of it ran
    perfectly on my old SparcStation20.

    If all else fails, most stuff is available with source, just recompile it
    and install it to get all your Sparc64 optimizations included!
