I take it you have installed this via serial port connection and there is no
keyboard/monitor hooked up to this Ultra1 ?
I don't know the fix specifically, but search the old suse-sparc archives.
I've seen the fix posted there before.
I think you much change the /etc/inittab to comment-out the lines related to
tty2-tty6.
