Why do you think so? Julian mentions Solaris 8 support explicitly on his
homepage at http://www.digistar.com/bzip2/#bzip2-latest

We probably could. But the upload area is fed trough a staging process that I
have no control over. I would take me some time, so I'd prefer if you just
get the bzip2 Solaris version. Or maybe someone else on this list can help
out.
