Hi Markus,

there are several ways to do this:

1. Using shifts

You define non-overlapping shifts in each of the projects and limit the
resource allocation by using the first shift in one project and the second
shift in the other project.

2. Including projects

If your projects have a defined priority, project A is more important than
project B, you can first schedule project A and write the scheduled project
to an export file. Then you include this export file in project B and
schedule it. For report generation you filter out all tasks that don't have
the projectid from project B.

3. Using vacations or block tasks

This is a bit tedious and does not work for fine granular mixing. You can
block the resources in one project with dummy tasks or vacations when the
resource should be used in another project.

4. Plan teams and not projects

This is what we use here at SUSE. Resource planning is done by the team leads.
The team export plans for each project. The project manager picks up all the
team plans for his project and generates the project plan out of it. This
only works well with a matrix organization.

Pick whatever works best for you.
