Subject: [taskjuggler-devel] TaskJuggler Web Forum online

Hi,

to complement our mailing lists we have added a web forum to the TaskJuggler web site. For each of the mailing list we have a corresponding discussion group in the forum. Postings will be synchronized between the forum and the list. For this list it is the Category "TaskJuggler Development".

A web forum offers a much richer environment than a mailing list, but there are certain differences you should be aware of. We will continue to support the mailing list, but we encourage everybody to migrate to the web forum. We have tried to make the migration as smooth as possible.

All previous postings to the lists have been imported into the forum. It is now a fully functional mailing list archive. If you have ever posted to one of the TaskJuggler lists, an account has been created for you. Go to the members section and find your login name. Then have the randomly generated password mailed to your email address (the one you used for posting to the list) from the login page (via the "Forgot Password" link).

In case you have never posted or want to create a new account, just go to the registration section on the main forum page (http://www.taskjuggler.org/FUDforum2).

If you would like to receive postings to a forum category, please subscribe to the category. You will get an email each time a new topic (thread in mailing list lingo) is created. To receive notifications on replies to the topic you need to subscribe to the topic as well. Each category/topic has a "subscribe/unsubscribe" link on the page.

Due to the richtext nature of the forum, the notification emails contain an ASCII and a HTML part. This might trigger your SPAM detector. So make sure that the forum mails do not get deleted accidently by your SPAM software. All forum postings originate from tjforum@taskjuggler.org.

We hope you will like this new feature. Please bare with us in case of minor hickups during the first days. Especially the sync between the ML and the forum is very difficult to test in dry runs.

Chris
