It seems to happen during scheduling. Often it crashes at startup (if I run with a project file for input on the command line), often it crashes when I explicitly open a project file from the UI, and often it crashes when I explicitly choose the Schedule menu command after editing a project file. And in all the above cases sometimes it doesn't crash.
I'll try the above suggestions and report what happens.
