Thanks for your (nearly online) help. It's running now :-)

Now i think i have a little bugreport (not very serious):

The configure-script discovers that it can not build the postscript-doc (there
was no tex installed). But the make install failed, because it doesn't find
some postscript-file to install.

It was no problem for me. I want to see the new docs (and rpm -U tetex is less
work than to edit your makefile), so i installed tex and make install runs
without any errors. But a less expierienced user (who does not see configures
warning) may be a little concerned.
