I am using the latest stable version 1.4.2.

This is suprising, arent' the Qt interfaces that stable so that Qt
3.0.4. will also work?
The Qt 3.0.4 version was the latest one which was available for Cygwin.

I had to use 2.95.3 because of the binary installation package for Qt. I
guess the solution would be to
recompile Qt and taskjuggler from source.
I am now seriously considering to turn my laptop into a multi-boot
windows XP, Linux system (SuSE 8.2), but
doing that would mean I would have less disk space for other things
(games, Mp3 collection, movies). I am using my laptop
for commuting and would like to save disk space (it has "only" 30GB) for
this type of thing as well.
Alternatively I also thinking about creating a servlet based web
interface for taskjuggler. Basically that would mean
that I create an object-oriented model of the taskjuggler input and let
users manipulate this model from their web
browser. At least then, everyone would be able to use taskjuggler
regardless of the OS they are using.
Also, I still think that a C++/STL version of taskjuggler or even a Java
version of Taskjuggler would have been much easier
to get to work on an arbitrary OS. In my opinion the compilation of a
command-line program such as taskjuggler which reads
stdin and writes stdout should be much easier.
What would you think of:
1. a java version of taskjuggler?
2. a servlet based web interface for taskjuggler?
- option 1: based on the current taskjuggler program
- option 2: based on a java version of taskjuggler
Are there people already working on this?
Cheers
Erik
