Subject: [taskjuggler] Problem with sub-accounts

Hi,

after I tested its time planning capabilities, I realized that I could
use TaskJuggler for my private budget planning needs, too.

The idea is to build up a hierarchical structure of accounts, whereby
each account represents a category of items I have bought or
payments I received. So I created a parent account "Revenues" with two
child accounts "Job 1" and "Job 2". Moreover, I created a parent
account "Costs" with a child account "Weekly". The account weekly has
a child account "Food".

Everytime I'm receiving a payment, I would enter a milestone task
together with a startcredit for account "job1" or "job2". Everytime
I'm buying food, I would enter a milestone task with a startcredit for
account "food". Of course, I could have used the command "credit"
alone, but I'd like to compare a budget plan with the real costs and
revenues for a month using scenarios. That's only possible with
"startcredit" (or "endcredit").

Please, look at the example project file and account reports at

http://people.freenet.de/fireglyph/Accounting-Details.html

Trying out the example I encountered something I didn't expect.

TaskJuggler correctly shows the hierarchical structure of the
accounts, as becomes obvious by the column "hierarchindex".

Nevertheless I'm a bit surprised about the fact that although the
detailed account report shows both payments for "Job 1" and "Job 2",
the total for the parent account "Revenues" is calculated as 0.
Shouldn't it be the sum of all the payments in sub-accounts (as the
total work/duration is calculated as the sum over all sub tasks in a
task report)?

In the overview account report I did a "rollupaccount 1". Now all
accounts are rolled up - and calculated as 0. Shouldn't it be the sum
of all sub-accounts, too?

Is this behaviour my own fault (wrong commands/understanding), a
misexpectation on my part or a bug in TaskJuggler?

I'm using TaskJuggler 2.0 (the download version).

(I've just seen that there are two other columns, "profit" and
"revenues" for a task report. Should I use rather a task hierarchy
than an account hierarchy for what I want to do?)

Thanks in advance for any support,

Marco
