Well, most people think that the report part also needs improvement. The html reports are
pretty unflexible for large projects, because you can not hide and show parts of the reports
dynamically. Therefore we introduced the XML output format in hope to provide the basics
for more interactive viewer of the output. KTjView is the first approach to provide such a
viewer.
But that is not yet data capturing. For data capturing, I could imagine of a new part that
offers
- a kind of workflow to start new projects
- a kind of workflow to add tasks
for the beginning. That means that there are a lot of dialogs to create in order to handle
the huge amount of options taskjuggler offers. This capturing part should produce
taskjuggler input files that can still be edited, either by experts or automatically.

As a technology, I would propose to work with KDE parts like ktjview. The parts can
be combined, eg. the capturing part together with a editor part which shows the generated
code and allows editing if required and the viewer part which shows the resulting gantt
chart. IMHO that would be a good starting point.

These are my first ideas and there can be much more ideas. This is very much
work, so that a team joining the taskjuggler development would be very good :-)
