Thought I'd post an update... Everything else is compiling fine on my notebook, except for taskjuggler, so something being wrong with gcc is unlikely. So, as I was getting errors with the examples, I removed that directory from the source code. Make failed, naturally, complaining it couldn't find a target to make, but it did actually compile the whole thing this time, except for the examples, and make install put everything in the right place.
I'm not sure if there's something odd about my system, but this was the only way I could get taskjuggler working here... If the devs would like more info, I'd be glad to provide it.
