That's a feature, not a bug ;-)
gzipped or zipped XML is a very common choice for a file format. One
example is OpenOffice.org.

That's something we should have a look at. The problem is that tjx2gantt
hasn't been actively maintained for some time and doesn't reflect the
latest changes in TJ ...
Somebody would have to make tjx2gantt work with the new XML format and
make sure it supports all the new features. Any takers?
