Message-ID: <5b3b85df39d0d_2da3cb53188523d@sle-prjmgr.mail> We are happy to announce that after the final validation and acceptance phase we have INTERNAL SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 Gold Master for: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Just Enough Operating System (JeOS), SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED), SUSE Linux Enterprise Workstation Extension (SLE-WE), SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability (SLE-HA), SUSE Linux Enterprise High Performance Computing (SLE-HPC) For you information, Gold Master isos are identical to Gold Master Candidate 2 isos but the SLE Beta Program will not provide the GM isos! The official and final release (FCS) of SLE 15 is scheduled for 16th July 2018. Please wait for the availability of GM iso to put SLE 15 in production. However, in the mean time, you can still base your evaluation on GMC2 and we have extended the SLES 15 Beta Registration code to 16th July 2018! == Beta Program We have intended to close the SLE 15 Public Beta Program on 16th July 2018, which still give you time to report and discuss before the official release of SLE 15 GM. Keep in mind that all images provided (including GMC) as part of the SLE Beta Program are under the SUSE Beta EULA[2], and should not be use in a commercial or production system. Stay in touch! More information regarding the end of SLE 15 Public Beta Program and the start of the SLE 12 SP4 Beta Program will be send soon. Thank you all for your contributions! Well, on a clean system using only the officially supported repositories the error as you attached should not happen. What approach did you select for migration? The attached command outputs you provided show "SLE12 SP3" in the names not "SLE12 SP4" so at does not exactly look a clean state. I did have to remove the NCC from /etc/zypp/credentials.d as one has too for SLES15. I also have to clean up /etc/tmpfiles.d/tmp.conf... Some of these machines started life in SLES10 so the have a good history... Like are our applications Adabas, now over 40 years old, some customers will not "install new", so we do try to Migrate / Update as much as possible.. I'll run some more tomorrow, but I think this is looking good so far Just an update on Bugzilla, I did try again while writing this and I'm getting the same issues as this morning. I did create a few bugs with SLES12 SP-3 and SLES15 SP-0 but: "Sorry, either the product Beta SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP4 does not exist or you aren't authorized to enter a bug into it" has a red background.... Maybe a task for someone on Monday. Many thanks for your update. __R ________________________________________ From: sle-beta-bounces at lists.suse.com [sle-beta-bounces at lists.suse.com] on behalf of Oliver Kurz [okurz at suse.de] Sent: 29 July 2018 15:05 To: sle-beta at lists.suse.com Subject: Re: [sle-beta] Issues with Migration SLES12 SP-3 to SP-4 Beta1 On Sunday, 29 July 2018 14:03:29 CEST Waite, Dick (External) wrote: > Grand Afternoon, > > I'm told these files are not needed, so I have removed them and the > Migration ran Okay. > I have a VMware Snapshot at the start so I can use that for Beta2 and see > what that brings. Well, on a clean system using only the officially supported repositories the error as you attached should not happen. What approach did you select for migration? The attached command outputs you provided show "SLE12 SP3" in the names not "SLE12 SP4" so at does not exactly look a clean state. _______________________________________________ sle-beta mailing list sle-beta at lists.suse.com http://lists.suse.com/mailman/listinfo/sle-beta Software AG ? I have used Migration for all my tests, now about a dozen machines and all have Migrated and tested grand. I have Migrated machines that with SLES15 would not move an inch... Issues with PAM, issues with tmp.conf, issues with NCC, but when Migrating these machines with Beta1, NO ISSUES, all went to Beta1 and ran and ran and ran. So SUSE SLES12 SP4 Beta team, very well done, lets go to GMC now ;o) and to the SLES15 team, have a word with your co-workers ... Wishing all a very good day. __R Software AG ?
