Hi,

Grand Morning Vincent,
I ran a migration from SP1 to SP2 this morning and a /etc/issues told me "snapshot5"

Yes, we are releasing updates as batch called “snapshot”. This week we should release the next
one “snapshot6”.

To be completely transparent with you, here is the complete and detailed schedule:

• Beta 1 2019-12-06
• Snapshot 1 2019-12-13
• Snapshot 2 2020-01-10
• Beta 2 2020-01-17
• Snapshot 3 2020-01-24
• Snapshot 4 2020-01-31
• Public Beta 2020-02-07
• Snapshot 5 2020-02-14
• Snapshot 6 2020-02-21
• RC 1 2020-02-28
• Snapshot 7 2020-03-06
• Snapshot 8 2020-03-13
• RC 2 2020-03-20
• Snapshot 9 2020-03-27
• Public RC 2020-04-03
• Snapshot 10 2020-04-17
• Public GMC 2020-04-24

We didn’t put this information in the public beta page to not confuse people, because some might wonder
where are the “snapshot ISOs" and we only provide them to specific Technology Partners but not on
download.suse.com<http://download.suse.com>.

Since the idea is to simplify beta testing to the masses (fewer ISOs) and usually they don’t request beta
registration codes (sic) thus don’t retrieve and apply updates, they will not see the snapshot name anywhere.

For active beta testers like you, we don’t want to prevent you from testing more than before, thus
you can get weekly updates to test ; ).

Also providing weekly ISOs to download.suse.com<http://download.suse.com> to the public would be a “nightmare” for us at the moment.
download.suse.com<http://download.suse.com> is not ready for handling around 150GB of ISOs every week, but our SCC Channels are
perfectly adapted to provide tons of weekly updates if needed.

I hope this help clarifying the /etc/issues and beta version in /etc/products.d/*, and why we are doing this.
We are always open for comments and feedbacks to improve in the future.

The Gnome terminal still gives issues, Firefox runs but a number of items start but will not close.

Might be worth to open a bug report if you can reproduce this!

I'm not sure I picked up any new code ?
I'll have another look later today.

Have a nice day,

Regards,
