Hi,

For your information, there are currently two severe bugs in the HPC product. These render the pdsh and slurm essentially unusable. We recommend testing the HPC product once we release another snapshot with the fixes in the coming week.
For reference: bsc#1209260 - slurm needs pmix-devel<https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209260> and bsc#1209216 - [pdsh, slurm module] segmentation fault on pdsh<https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209216>

Regards,

[SUSE logo][BETA program]

We are happy to announce our next Online Updates for SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 Service Pack 5 labeled RC1-202303. The Release Candidate phase is starting, however we plan to release Public Release Candidate Medias around end of April 2023. For now we are only providing updates via our Onlines Channels.

Consolidation Service Pack

SLE 15 SP5 is a "Consolidation<https://www.suse.com/c/how-suse-builds-its-enterprise-linux-distribution-part-4/>" Service Pack. And so, the focus is on Bug/Security fixes as well as improving our existing features. For sure you will find new selected features in this release but we have not made any major updates of our stacks compared to SP4.

Beta Registration Codes

Please contact us at beta-programs at suse.com<mailto:beta-programs at suse.com> to request your Beta Registration Codes, in case you want to benefit from our Online Updates on your installed system or for testing online migration!

openSUSE Leap 15.5 Beta

For your information, openSUSE Leap is also having a beta program, please read the following announcement<https://news.opensuse.org/2023/02/21/leap-reaches-beta-phase/> for more information. As a reminder, you can learn more about the relationship between openSUSE Leap and SLE in the How SUSE builds Enterprise Linux Distribution Part 5<https://www.suse.com/c/how-suse-builds-its-enterprise-linux-distribution-part-5/> blog post.

Beta testing in the Public Cloud

We are not providing SLE 15SP5 Beta images in the Public Cloud as none of the providers have a setup for beta products. However you can always use a BYOS image and migrate them to SLE 15SP5 with a Beta Registration Code.

What happened since Snapshot-202302-1

We are providing updates through our online channels. Please refer to our FAQ<https://suse.com/betaprogram/sle-beta/#faq-reg> for more information on our Update Channels.
