Hi Andreas,

I'm afraid there is still no new upstream release which includes our patch. It's merged in master, though.
Would it be an option that SUSE adds it on top of whatever node_exporter version looks feasible?

Or in other words: how long do we still have to convince the upstream maintainer to release a new version that you could pick up?

we'll pick the patch and add it on top of the package for SP6. No need 
to wait for an upstream release,

Important notice

Refresh Service Pack

SLE 15 SP6 is a "Refresh[1]" Service Pack. And so, our Release
Management team has provided guidance to our engineering for
updating packages in SLE 15 SP6 to a new openSUSE Factory version.
Still we are carefully evaluating and accepting package updates,
while checking for the latest changes in the upstream project and
verifying it is not breaking any ABI.

What happened since Service Pack 5

We are providing updates through our online channels. Please refer to
our FAQ[2] for more information on our Update Channels.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Service Pack 6 is a featureful update, bringing
the Linux Kernel 6.4, glibc 2.38, GNOME 45, OpenSSL 3.1, Java 21,
PostgreSQL 16.

OpenSSH has been updated to version 9.3. Password root login, which
has always been allowed in SLE15 via the standard sshd configuration,
is now enabled by the openssh-server-config-rootlogin package. To
keep the same behaviour as previous Service Packs, this package is
installed by default.

libnsl.so.1 has been split from the main glibc package to the libnsl1
package, which is still installed by default as part of the base
patterns.

We would like to remind you that SLE 15 SP6 now uses the cgroup unified
hierarchy by default (cgroupv2).

Notice for SLE Server for SAP

- The autoyast component of the YaST installer for SAP HANA (package
sap-installation-wizard) is not working, it will be fixed with the
next build.
- SAP ASE fails with the current SP6, for more details see SAP note
3425215 (https://me.sap.com/notes/3425215, SAP S-User ID
required).
- For SAP HANA, you need at a minimum HANA 2.0 SPS07 revision 72 (on
x86_64 platform) and revision 74 (on ppc64le platform).

I would like to get some clarifications about updating an already
registered SLES15 SP5 system to the SP6 beta.

The SLES 15 SP5 system was registered some weeks ago and now I want to
update it to SP6 and test new functionalities.



I activated my beta registration code in the Suse portal.



But now it is not clear to me what to do on my system



If I run ?zipper migration?, after retrieving and refreshing several repos,
I get ?No migration available?

If I run ?suseconnect --regcode my_given_beta_code? I get



Activating SLES 15.5 x86_64 ?

Error: Registration server returned ?The subscription with registration
code ?my_given_beta_code? does not include the requested product ?SUSE

And it redirects me to the online option here:

and then to the zipper option (5.5 Upgrading with Zypper) that seems not to
work for me.



What to do?

Tried also to de-register and register with the beta code but after

suseconnect -d  (successfully deregistered system)

suseconnect --regcode my_beta_code

I get the same error above. It seems it detects anyway an SP5 and it is not
able to apply reg code for SP6

Tried also with yast and it says the same: no migration available

elfutils-libelf-devel is the RH/Fedora name for this package. In SUSE
distributions, it's libelf-devel.

To make this easier, just request "pkgconfig(libelf)" which works across both.
