Message-ID: <53870C99020000050000CB55@prv-mh.provo.novell.com> Welcome to the inaugural message for the SUSE HPC User Council. The purpose of this email list is to discuss deep technical issues related to HPC specific deployments with engineering level discussion on how to address it in the future. So, think of your challenges and the optimizations that need to happen for Linux to work better at HPC scale and let's get the discussion going. Participants on this list span commercial, research, educational and SUSE Labs. I would suggest our first round of messages be introductions. How about name, where you work, what you do and your field of expertise? I'll start. My name is David Byte (no, I didn't change it.) I work for SUSE in the OEM and Integrated Systems team and spend my time supporting OEM partners around the globe. I also run our presence at the fall SC show. My field of expertise.. Let's just say I am the lightweight on this list, I'm not a kernel hacker, but rather a guy who has a definite technical interest in large Linux systems and clusters. Your turn!
