Grand Friday Afternoon,

I test with VMware Workstation 10.0.2 on x86_64 machines. I have tested since Beta1 of SLE v12. I have not seen any issues with a New Install, I do get issues, as I have often nagged on this list with an Update/Upgrade from SLE 11-SP3. For the new install I use defaults as much as posable. I boot from the DVD1 iso's using both server and DSK. I have not tried to use a mini iso. When, when Beta9 arrives I'll try a New Install as the first test and let you know how it goes. Are you Workstation 10.0.2-b1744117 ?

Is anyone else using VMware Player 6 (or perhaps VMware Workstation 10) to test SLES12?

For the past couple of betas, beta 7 and 8, I'm getting a kernel panic after the system boots once install completed. See attached screenshot.

I'm using the SLES11 64-bit guest OS profile and have tried switching from SCSI to SATA disks plus upping virtual RAM from 768MB to 1GB but that doesn't seem to have made any difference. These are basic text-only installs of SLES12 with nothing fancy. I'm booting from mini ISO then pointing at network-mounted DVD ISO. Both ISOs match their checksums.

I saw it with a beta 6 but that seemed to be a one off as after restarting VM it then booted. Now it seems to be repeatable.

Thanks,
Simon
