What is the preferred method of activating IPMI devices in SLES12?
Do the ipmitool and/or freeipmi packages need to be installed?
Is it necessary to enable any of the services provided by these
packagese manually?
On some other distros, I have seen is the following code allowing
automatic activation of IPMI-capable hardware via udev:
/etc/modprobe.d/ipmi.conf
alias acpi:IPI000*:* ipmi_si
alias acpi:IPI000*:* ipmi_devintf
alias acpi:IPI000*:* ipmi_msghandler
Is there anything similar on SLES12?
Martin
