Hello,
We have installed Beta10.
I tried to install "ruby-devel" from the SDK but it fails:
build-sle12:~ # zypper in ruby-devel
...
Problem: ruby-devel-2.1-1.1.x86_64 requires ruby2.1-devel >= 2.1.2, but
this requirement cannot be provided
uninstallable providers: ruby2.1-devel-2.1.2-2.10.x86_64[sdk]
Solution 1: do not install ruby-devel-2.1-1.1.x86_64
Solution 2: break ruby-devel-2.1-1.1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its
dependencies
So I tried finding ruby2.1-devel which is actually present but cannot be
installed either:
build-sle12:~ # zypper in ruby2.1-devel
...
Problem: ruby2.1-devel-2.1.2-2.10.x86_64 requires ruby-common, but this
requirement cannot be provided
uninstallable providers: ruby-common-2.1-7.1.noarch[sdk]
Solution 1: do not install ruby2.1-devel-2.1.2-2.10.x86_64
Solution 2: break ruby2.1-devel-2.1.2-2.10.x86_64 by ignoring some of
its dependencies
Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c] (c):
The same with "ruby-common":
build-sle12:~ # zypper in ruby-common
...
Problem: nothing provides rubygem(gem2rpm) needed by
ruby-common-2.1-7.1.noarch
Solution 1: do not install ruby-common-2.1-7.1.noarch
Solution 2: break ruby-common-2.1-7.1.noarch by ignoring some of its
dependencies
Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c] (c):
Eventually rubygem(gem2rpm) seems to be missing.
First question:
Is there a bug in either SDK or SLES ?
Second question:
Shouldn't zypper tell in the first place what the actual problem is?
(Namely missing rubygem(gem2rpm))
Because if I decide to break dependencies, zypper should at least give the option to install
all installable packages.
