[sles-beta] Admin Server fails to boot on Xen

I've had this issue on SLES 12 installed on VMWare. The cause is that for some reason the kernel gets deleted/removed. Before the reboot check that the kernel is still installed. If not, reinstall the kernel as well as grub2.

Subject: Re: [sles-beta] Admin Server fails to boot on Xen

Hi,

this is a follow up on my problem regarding a SLES12-SP1 virtual machine on a Xen host.

The reported issue in my previous mail refers to an installation where "/boot" was installed on a sperate ext4 partition, the remaining file system was btrfs. This had to do with earlier problems, I wanted to avoid them.

Today I reinstalled SLES12-SP1 with default partitioning. The only changes I made were in the network settings. But the problem was the same, after reboot the VM gets stuck in grub. Only this time I'm not able to boot it manually with any grub commands.

For reference, I installed SLES12-SP0 again, with the exact same settings (default except network). This VM reboots successfully.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Eugen
