[caasp-beta] cloud-init and root password

Thanks for your answers.



I’m a little bit confused when you are talking about master and admin nodes. 
In fact I couldn't setup any nodes.

There is steps that I have performed:



With VMX

1.       Download VMware files

a.       SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-VMware.x86_64-1.0.0-RC1.vmdk

b.       SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-VMware.x86_64-1.0.0-RC1.vmx

2.       Run virtual machine

3.       After the boot, I get the following screen but I don’t know root 
credentials and I can’t access to http://10.1.133.28/ from my browser.









With ISO

1.       Download all ISO files

a.       SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-DVD-x86_64-RC1-DVD1.iso

b.       SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-DVD-x86_64-RC1-DVD2.iso

c.       SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-DVD-x86_64-RC1-DVD3.iso

2.       Perform the installation with 
SUSE-CaaS-Platform-1.0-DVD-x86_64-RC1-DVD1.iso

3.       During the installation I was never prompted for choosing keyboard, 
root password or some others parameters. System just installed itself 
automatically.

4.       When installation was finished and after a reboot, I get a login 
screen but I still don’t have root credentials. And seems that I need to 
setup a static IP but of course I can’t do it.







Something wrong in my steps ?

When you start the first node after selecting Administrator Dashboard or 
whatever the system role  you have option to choose your “root” password  at 
the top.

    Did you already set up the admin node and this installation was for the 
master node? If so, autoyast did it for you

    based on what you set up in the admin node. You can change the password 
by ssh from the admin node to the master node

    as root. There are shared keys that should let you in.
