We are happy to announce the Beta 4 of SUSE Linux Micro 6.2!
The snapshot media is released internally to our partners and to the
public. This is a public milestone.

What we are delivering
- Base Images - Base image (core OS plus podman, no virtualization, no
salt-minion) for all architectures, Including QCOW2 and VMDK
(x86_64 only) versions. For s390x includes FBA, DASD and KVM image.
- Base-encrypted Images - Encrypted base image (as above) for use with
FDE on x86_64
- Default Images - Same as 5.x default images (includes core OS,
podman, virt-stack, cockpit, salt-minion), all architectures.
Including QCOW2 and VMDK (x86_64) versions. For s390x includes FBA,
DASD and KVM image.
- Default-encrypted - Encrypted Default image for use with FDE.
x86_64 only
- SelfInstall-Base - SelfInstalling Base Image (core OS plus podman,
no virtualization, no salt-minion). X86_64, aarch64 and ppc64le
- SelfInstall-Default - Same as 5.x default images (includes core OS,
podman, virt-stack, cockpit, salt-minion). X86_64, aarch64 and
ppc64le
- Extras - Additional packages (requested by various parties) that
are shipped without any support
- Packages - Which are Non-bootable ISO for off-line access to the
repos Some images do have also RT variant which includes real time
kernel instead of the standard one
Important Notice
- There has been a change in /etc/os-release which is now present in
Beta4 snapshot. Please make sure you understand the impact of this
change. For details see: SLE-os-identification[2]
Notes
- Package repository is in the same directory. It is inside Packages
ISO image, which contains the repository, but is not bootable.
- Additional packages (requested by various parties) that are
shipped without any support are available in the Extras ISO image.

- Provided the NVIDIA open driver CUDA KMPs with SLE Micro (SMO-436)

- Removed Salt Minion from Micro (SMO-509)
- Added cloud-init for ppc64le raw images (SMO-517)
- Added cloud-init for s390x raw images (SMO-518)
- Switched to predictable network names with next generation of
enterprise Linux (PED-248)
- Dropped numad (PED-7920)
- Add subscription status tab to cockpit and allow the customer to
introduce subscription information there (PED-8548)
- virt-v2v in SLE micro 6 (PED-8652)
- Build 64K page size aarch64 images (PED-8758)
- UserSpace Live Patching: support transactional system properly
(PED-11009)
- Support KVM host on IBM Power with Micro (PED-11137)
- We should make sure nerdctl is not part of SLES 16.0 (PED-12279)
- Added policycoreutils-python-utils for Micro (PED-12670)
- Default OCI runtime is crun instead of runc /already present in
Beta3/ (PED-12341)
- Various bugfixes were made
- Number of packages have been updated

reported for sle16, not tested on micro, but kernels are same

backport 76486b104168a - fix submitted, but not in SLE16/Micro yet
