[sle-beta] Gnome and a good Script

Your in a Gnome session...sad but true...

sag at mcrjw02-15-0-2:/opt/softwareag$  script fred"$(date +"%Y_%m_%d_%I_%M_%p").log"    # so you enter the script command and give it an output file fred and you try ( I'm trying) ) to give it date/time. It comes back, when you have got it right, with the start string....

Script started, file is fred2018_04_01_10_04_am.log
[Setting environment for Adabas Client]
[done]
This is Adabas getting in on the act, but it does show your getting all the stuff...

sag at mcrjw02-15-0-2:/opt/softwareag$ # some input      ### this is me giving some input
sag at mcrjw02-15-0-2:/opt/softwareag$ exit                    ## and then I say enough is enough
exit

Script done, file is fred2018_04_01_10_04_am.log

sag at mcrjw02-15-0-2:/opt/softwareag$ cat fred2018_04_01_10_04_am.log   ### I now cat the output file to see what we have...

Script started on Sun 01 Apr 2018 10:04:28 CEST
[Setting environment for Adabas Client]
[done]
[Setting environment for Adabas 6.3 SP4]
[done]

That is where I'm at, but I have seen some example on the web that do more exciting things and as I expect many on this forum needs some mind games over Easter I thought I'd ask.... The best will get my thanks ;o) and of course those of our new young people.
