______________________________________________________________________________

Announcement ID: SUSE-RU-2015:0649-1
Rating: low
References: #808462 #841789 #847425
Affected Products:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 LTSS
______________________________________________________________________________

An update that has three recommended fixes can now be
   installed.

Description:

This update for hal provides the following fixes:

       *

Rewrite X keyboard configuration if required, i.e. when the system
keyboard layout has changed. This way this process won't be done any
longer in xdm init script, preventing a race condition which could lead to
   corrupting the .fdi file. (bsc#841789)

       *

Do not install a signal handler on the forked hal daemon before
being able to properly handle it. (bsc#808462)

       *

Allow disabling storage device probing by setting
   HALD_IGNORE_STORAGE to "yes" in /etc/sysconfig/hal. (bsc#808462,
   bsc#847425)

       *

Do not kill the child when it takes too long to probe devices, as it
will only shutdown hald after the probe is complete. (bsc#808462)
