Announcement ID: SUSE-RU-2026:23180-1

Affected Products:
* SUSE Linux Micro 6.1
* SUSE Linux Micro Extras 6.1
An update that contains one feature and has four fixes can now be installed.
## Description:
This update for python-kiwi fixes the following issues:
New features and enhancements:
* Add support for OCI format for disk images: the (oci|docker):image_format
format stores the disk image in the disk/ directory of an OCI-compliant
container, optionally layered on top of a reference container via the
derived_from attribute, with custom naming via bundle_format. Useful to
bundle a disk image and its runtime requirements into one artifact
* Add support for sha512sum: select between shasum size 256 and 512 via the
new 'shasum' runtime config section
* Refactor use of the kiwi settings file: additionally read
/etc/kiwi.yml.d/_.yml, /usr/share/kiwi/kiwi.yml and
/usr/share/kiwi/kiwi.yml.d/_.yml, and install the default settings as
/usr/share/kiwi/kiwi.yml.example from the main package instead of from kiwi-
man-pages
* Drop the parted requirement for the msdos partitioner; the active flag on a
partition in the DOS table is now set via sfdisk
* Do not hardcode the dracut omit module list in the live builder; special
settings should come from /etc/dracut.conf.d/*.conf as part of the image
description (bsc#1260340)
Bug fixes:
* Fix reading of runtime config files: honor both vendor (/usr) and admin
(/etc) locations per the systemd/uapi spec instead of only one, and take
drop-in directories into account even if their main file is not present
* Do not require qemu variant packages on 32bit architectures (bsc#1263564)
* Fix rereading of the DASD partition table with partprobe: require parted and
partprobe in the dracut code only for DASD disks on s390, and skip the
active device locking for parted and partprobe on DASD devices to avoid a
dead-lock caused by libparted applying flock() itself (bsc#1263973)
* Fix system resize: the resize via sfdisk --relocate failed when the device
was locked beforehand, and the pre-resize filesystem check is no longer
applied for btrfs, which expectedly reports an outdated free space cache
after the partition table was resized
* Fix the caller environment for non-chroot scripts so they also know about
the kiwi profile environment, e.g. the current profile name
* Fix the result bundler dropping the container format type (e.g. ".docker")
from result names when container images are built uncompressed
* Update the package build instructions for the new SUSE immutable mode
package restrictions: kiwi-pxeboot now uses systemd-tmpfiles for files
outside /usr and /etc
* Drop the erofs requirement for SUSE, where it does not exist on SLES
