You want to take the kernel _SOURCE_ from the SLES 11 SP2
update channel and recompile on SLES 11 SP3?

That wont work: as I said, the SLES 11 SP2 and SP3 kernel
share the same upstream _base_, but the two kernels have
different patches on top.

In other words:

3.0.76-xxxx (SLES 11 SP2) != 3.0.76-yyyy (SLES 11 SP3).

In addition, recompiling the kernel renders the _whole_
system of the customer unsupported by SUSE.

DO NOT recompile any packages from SUSE, and please to not
suggest anybody to do so.  See also the Release Notes:
