Grand Sunday Afternoon,
The words I have seen too often, "The installed product is not compatible with the product on the installation media. If you try to update using the current installation media, the system may not start or some applications may not run properly."

This was a new install of SLE 11-3 on new disks using only defaults. I did load the system a couple of times after the install to check it ran and looked Okay. I then switched the environment to point at SLE 12-0 Beta3 iso's. So it looks like from what I see a SLE 11-3 with GNOME can not be upgraded to 12-0 beta3 with Gnome.

The release notes 12.0.8 which say they can also be found at "http://www.suse.com/documentation/sles12", which gives a 404, and has a small font in green on the black background which is not very friendly to the eyes, section 4.4 Upgrade-related Notes, in a grand white font, 4.4.1 it does say: "SLES 11 GA -> SLES 11 SP1 -> SLES SP2 -> SLES SP3 -> SLES 12 GA". True this is only Beta3 but I did understand Upgrade with beta3 is supported.

Time to call it a day I think. Looking forward to tomorrow evenings meeting, could be quite lively and I'm sure productive. We all want v12 to be a grand release, much better then, "the other red one v7". ;o)
