The same is true for Ansible (not included with SLES) if python is removed.
I mention this because Ansible is something some colleagues (and myself
as an interested party) are looking at as an alternative to AutoYaST
where a server PXE boots and installs a minimal OS (possibly via minimal
AutoYaST file), chroot to OS and uses Ansible to then build the server
according to profile(s) assigned to it. I don't yet know all the details
but the reason for looking at this is to solve a problem of having
multiple AutoYaST scripts.
Now at this point I can see Matthias going "a-ha, that's modular". Well
yes it is in the sense that (for example) Apache would only be installed
if Ansible is building a web server but there wouldn't necessarily be
any external network access during the build process plus registration
is unlikely to change from now where we use internal YUM repos as
opposed to NCC/SCC or SMT.
