In that case, please run with linuxrc.debug=1 linuxrc.log=/foo.log and send me the log.

There's one other thing you can try: instead of the network options you used above, use

ifcfg: eth0=10.1.100.167/23,10.1.101.254,10.1.121.11

Actually you should be able to work your way through linuxrc's dialogs just fine.
