Hi,
“zypper dup” is not a supported method to upgrade to Major SLE version,
thus not supported to upgrade from SLES 12 SP3 to SLES 15.
This is only supported for Service Pack Migration of a SLE version, and note
even in this case we recommend to use “zypper migration” instead
https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles-12/singlehtml/book_sle_deployment/book_sle_deployment.html#sec.update.migr.zypper.onlinemigr <https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles-12/singlehtml/book_sle_deployment/book_sle_deployment.html#sec.update.migr.zypper.onlinemigr>
Note:
This is not new with SLE15, the same statement are true for migrating from SLE
11 to SLE 12. cf https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles-12/singlehtml/book_sle_deployment/book_sle_deployment.html#sec.update.sle.methods <https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles-12/singlehtml/book_sle_deployment/book_sle_deployment.html#sec.update.sle.methods>
Regards,
